Media release: Relegen selected for DMO’s Maritime Systems Division Key Divisional Suppliers program

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 29 OCTOBER, 2013 – Relegen, a leading supplier of people and technology to Defence, maritime, law enforcement, mining and asset-intensive industries, today announced it had been selected to participate in the Defence Materiel Organisation’s [DMO] Maritime Systems Division Key Divisional Suppliers program. Relegen now forms part of a key group of 20+ suppliers who have been selected for inclusion in the Key Divisional Suppliers program after being successfully audited by the DMO. Other private-sector Key Divisional Suppliers include Rolls Royce, Saab Group, Thales, UGL Limited, Wartsilla and more.

In our last post, we kicked off a series about asset ID tags with a look at asset identification using barcodes. Today we pick up where we left off with an introduction to RFID and how the technology compares and contrasts with barcoding. RFIDs and barcodes are similar in that they are both data collection technologies which automate the process of collecting field data. Both forms of auto-ID have their pros and cons for asset tracking, asset management and asset lifecycle management, and either one may be better suited for your specific project.
